Our client is an ultrasound diagnostic equipment manufacturer in South-East Asia. They offers modules and tools that you can use to analyse patient ultrasound scanning and analysis services, they are also build an efficient system for sharing critical finding during ultrasound between departments or with other physicians, and gain new insights into treatment options based on the data.

We were asked by our client to create an AI-based system capable of extracting diagnostic mutations information from the Ultrasound scans from both archived and new records.

We encounter a set of three challenges before implementing the concept that we have created, they are listed below:

  • Learning model configuration - A specialized and advanced learning model has to be created for identifying critical fields for every since they contain not just a plethora of information but they are very crucial information as well.

  • Lightweight tool creation - The tool that will provide the information and reporting from the scans should not be resource intensive. It should be made lightweight as possible, cloud operations are preferable.

  • Storage and print-ready maintenance - The extracted information and scans should be made readily available with proper cataloguing. The data should also be print-ready and export-ready, since scans are always in circulation between various doctors (even at a hospital level under certain conditions)

The accuracy of ultrasound scan diagnosis can be improved by using state-of-the art technologies, including image analysis and computer vision. Using the limited dataset available, we have created a proof-of-concept that can be used to detect progressions, regressions and mutations in medicinal analyses.

The detected changes and anomalies in the scans by our state-of-the art AI tech could be used as an reference tools for doctors to get a preliminary report instantaneously. A tool like this would be extremely helpful for the doctors during critical treatments and it promotes quick resolution of any health issues.
